A duo all the way from Kirkcaldy, Marko and Jane dig deep inside a toybox full of assorted analogue synths, wind them up, and let them do their work. The band’s blend of bubblegum pop and hyperactive evil synth genius has seen them gig with Peaches, Chicks on Speed, Ladytron and The White Stripes in what’s always a lively performance. This gig doubles up as the launch gig for their album Chrome Tape on DHR.

Av ymse årsaker har jeg endelig funnet webradioen som tilfredsstiller mitt behov for en herlig mix av åttitalls schlägere og annet obskurt materiale fra min såkalte ungdomstid (..siden ble jeg bare tidløs..) Jeg påstår fortsatt at om jeg har en god idè, finnes det minst èn forkvaklet sjel til som synes det samme..

Where and when did the whole thing start ? It is difficult to set a definite date.. It is like waking up one morning and saying you want to have a radio show and then realizing that you have unconsciously always been thinking about it. (I know it sounds weird, but you probably know what I am talking about, or should I see a shrink soon ?)

That is when Babes in Boyland materialized. First interviews, first spluttering in the mic and the paternalistic comments we chose to reveal instead of ignoring. The very first show was dedicated to women in punk, the second to riot grrls. Next thing we knew was that Babes in Boyland was 6 years old and the year was 2004. I know it sounds like we are a pair of Cinderellas, but it was just a way of saying time flies... We have not been sleeping and we don't need anybody to fight the dragon for us (what do you mean it is not the same fairy tale, have you got no fantasy ?!?)
